Decision making and the will of God

Decision making and the will of God “…not a program, it is a relationship. It is not what you do, it is what you are. It is not primarily a question of guidance (that is a part of it, admittedly, but it is a very minor part), it is really a question of acceptance [of his Lordship over every aspect of your life]” Ray Stedman, Finding the will of God
Who am I going to marry? Celibate? Buy a home? Study? Work? Relocate? Change jobs? Have children? How many?
How do we get our bearings on which directions to take in life today? How are we to understand this concept of God’s will and how we make decisions? The Apostle Paul helps us in Romans 12:1-2 (ESV) I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
