This series is about allowing God to speak into our marriage relationships so as to bring renewal and vitality. The marriage relationship is so significant that God chose it as a picture of his relationship with his people. In the Old Testament, we are told that God saw himself as the husband of Israel (Isa. 54:5). In the New Testament, Christ is seen as the husband of the church (2 Cor. 11:2), and the church is seen as the bride of Christ.
In Ephesians 5:21-33 Paul gives us a glimpse into the inner workings of a marriage that out of the love of Christ (vs 1-2) mutual love and respect result in the unity that we spoke of last week from Philippians 2.
