Following Jesus, fulfilling His mission, in community together.

He is Here – Always

He is Here – Always.
John 1:14 (NLT)
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Over this Advent season in preparation of our heart and minds for Christmas we will be reflecting on the tag line – He is Here – and ways in which that is witnessed in our human experience. He = Christ child.

In storms of life – as in the valleys, wilderness, storm – knowing that God is present through the advent of Jesus Christ we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

Our theme for this advent has been “He IS here”, and consistently throughout the Bible God says “I will be with you.” – “I am here” – this being a source of encouragement and hope.

Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Matthew 1:23 “The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’ ”

Matthew 28:20 (NLT) 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (resurrected Jesus)

But it is in John 1 where we witness God being here with skin on.

I’ve chosen the Gospel of John because it is unique to the other Gospels…

John 1:14 (NLT) 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
