Resilient Faith

10:36 For you have need of endurance,…”
10:39 But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

Research tell us that resilient people live longer, live healthier, and have healthier relationships. Resilience is our capacity to adjust to changes and challenges in our life, as well as the ability to “spring back” after dealing with a difficult and stressful time. (The American Psychological Association). It is the ability to cope under pressure.

We don’t have control over the challenges and changes that we encounter along life’s journey. Resilient faith can help us navigate those hurdles and turns and so endure when the pressures on. The word of encouragement from the writer of Hebrews is to be resilient, and he up-skills the reader to endure.
