Last week Riley spoke about “Giving: from duty to delight”, and he reminded us of the significant juncture we as people of God at VHBC have arrived –

This is moment in the life of our church where we are being called to both:

• Faith – that God can do immeasurably more that we could ever ask or imagine
• Faithfulness – as we’re called be a part of this unfolding story of God’s goodness and provision through his people.

He invited us to move from duty to delight – Our giving to the new building only has any value if it is the fruit of a transformed heart…

In other words, what we love shapes our desires, and what we desire shapes what we do…

2 Corinthians 9:7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”

I have an invitation for you today, the invitation this morning multifaceted:

Invitation to join us in vision and mission

Invitation into a new way of relating to your resources

Invitation to put your security in God

Invitation into something that is greater than we are individually
