Strengthening Realationships #2 Ephesians 5:21-33

I agree with N T Wright in his commentary on this passage where he states that at the start of the 21st Century it’s harder than ever to be a boy. It’s confusing to know what it is to be male, or for that matter female.

There’s talk now of discrimination against women from women that refer to themselves as a housewife.
Anyone stepping into that precarious position of describing either gender is branded a purveyor of stereotypes. Canadian clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson was described in an article in NYT 2018 as ‘the Custodian of Patriarchy’ by Nellie Bowles.“The masculine spirit is under assault,” he told me. “It’s obvious.”

At other end of the spectrum “Our Watch” End Violence Against Women and their Children – which is something we’d all agree with. According to “Our Watch” the primary cause of domestic violence is male patriarchy.

[Patriarchy is a social system in which men hold primary power and predominate in roles of political leadership, moral authority, social privilege, and control of property, while the women are subjugated. Wikipedia]
